Healthy Building Checkups
Indoor Air Quality Is a Business Issue
Increased absenteeism, employee complaints about headaches or fatigue, and unexplained drops in productivity are often tied to the indoor environment. Sick Building Syndrome is well-documented, and the causes are identifiable and addressable.
Healthy Building Checkups give property managers and business owners a regular, documented look at what is happening inside their buildings before problems reach the point of complaint or liability.
What We Evaluate
- Moisture conditions and potential water intrusion points
- Mold presence or elevated mold spore concentrations
- Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) levels from furnishings, adhesives, and building materials
- Ventilation performance and air distribution patterns
- Carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) levels
- Total VOC (TVOC) readings in occupied areas
How Often Should a Building Be Assessed
We recommend semi-annual or annual assessments for most commercial buildings. Higher-traffic buildings, older structures, or those with known moisture histories may benefit from more frequent evaluation. After any significant weather event, flooding, or HVAC issue, an assessment should be scheduled promptly.
Sampling When Conditions Warrant
Not every checkup requires laboratory sampling. When our on-site evaluation identifies conditions that need further documentation, we collect targeted samples. An independent certified laboratory and results, complete all lab analysis are included in your assessment report.
What You Receive
- A documented assessment report with photographs and observed findings
- Recommendations for ventilation, moisture control, or remediation as applicable
- Independent lab results for any samples collected
- A summary suitable for sharing with building ownership, tenants, or insurers
