Commercial Building Health Assessment
Commercial Building Health Assessment
When employees begin reporting symptoms like headaches, fatigue, respiratory irritation, or allergy-like conditions, the building itself is often part of the equation.
Our Commercial Building Health Assessment is designed to identify environmental conditions that may be contributing to Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) or Building-Related Illness (BRI).
Understanding the Problem
- Sick Building Syndrome (SBS): Occupants experience symptoms that improve when they leave the building, often without a single identifiable cause
- Building-Related Illness (BRI): Symptoms are linked to specific environmental contaminants, such as mold or poor air quality
In both cases, the root issue is typically tied to moisture, ventilation, or building performance.
What We Do
We take a systematic approach to evaluate how the building is functioning and where problems may exist:
- Comprehensive visual inspection of affected and surrounding areas
- Moisture mapping and thermal imaging to identify hidden water intrusion
- Evaluation of HVAC performance and air distribution
- Airflow and pressure assessment to identify imbalances
- Real-time monitoring of indoor air quality (TVOCs, CO, CO2)
- Real-time mold and particulate analysis using the InstaScope
We focus on identifying sources, not just symptoms.
Sampling (When Needed)
When conditions warrant, we provide targeted sampling:
- Mold air sampling
- Surface sampling
- Mycotoxin sampling
What You Receive
Within approximately 72 hours, you will receive:
- A detailed Photo Book documenting observed conditions
- A Summary of Findings explaining the contributing factors
- A Remediation Work Plan (if needed) outlining clear corrective actions
Our Goal
To help you identify what is driving occupant complaints and provide clear, actionable solutions. We evaluate the building as a system, identify the root causes, and give you a path forward to improve indoor environmental quality and restore confidence for occupants.
